Are you interested in becoming a Program Manager?

The role is no small job, and one must be committed to expending serious time and energy either domestically or in the field with the following tasks:

- Developing a program to be implemented for an agreed upon period of time in a given location in conjunction with the mission of poverty relief either in the developing world or domestically.

- Working closely with the director and the discretion of the executive board to develop a series of time-sensitive goals to ensure the program’s inception, execution, and either conclusion or sustainability.  (This entails generating a proposal for review at the semi-annual board member meetings.)

- Developing a plan for funding the program, in conjunction with the director and chief financial officer, and developing corresponding time-sensitive goals for any related fund raising proposals.

- Working closely with the director and the discretion of the executive board to meet the targets set for funding the program.

- Working closely with contacts in the country of choice, contacts which a program manager may have to locate for themselves, in order to have allies and assistance in the target region.

- Figuring out ways to sustain the presence of Direct Development in the region for future projects involving either DDI’s own people, or people living in the target region.

- Preparing a briefing following a project’s implementation, or after the program has run for one month’s time for review of the director, executive board, and chief financial officer.

How to apply:

Please submit a cover letter, resume, and description of the program you wish you spearhead.  Be sure to have in mind the region in which your program will be implemented, the amount of time you believe to be needed to carry out the initiative, how you plan to sustain the initiative, and who else will be joining you.
