Donations are not the only way you can help DDI, but they are an extremely useful tool to our partners in the developing world. DDI has two financial goals for 2009.
One is to raise half of the $13,000 USD required to build a school for 200 children in a suburb of Kampala, Uganda. Schools in Uganda are major forces in the lives of Ugandans of all ages, providing around 40 jobs, and places for 200 bright young minds. DDI hopes to raise $6,500 by its next return to Uganda exactly one year from now. If donating directly is not your style, an apparel store will be opening soon on the site, so that you can show your support through your purchase.
The second financial goal is raising $500 USD to build a library for young adults looking to increase their vocational abilities in Belen, Peru. Belen, Peru has recently been afflicted terribly by relentless overflooding of the Amazon River. This target goal is rapidly approaching in December. Help us change the lives in the people of the slum known as the “Venice of Peru.”
